About the Doctor
Dr. Sheila Elaahi received her DDS degree from Columbia University School of Dental Medicine in New York in 1990. She also received an advanced degree in Oral Biology from University of Maryland Dental School where she carried out research on the effects of alcohol and nicotine on orofacial growth and development as well as microbiological examination of anti-plaque agents. As a result of this additional training, Dr. Elaahi always includes a full mouth exam for oral cancer screening and periodontal gum measurement as part of her routine dental examination.

This has in turn allowed her to remain up-to-date with the most recent dental procedures and technologies. She has also attended many national and international seminars and continuing education courses in aesthetics, operative, implants, and prosthodontics systems, as well as certificate programs in porcelain laminate.
Dr. Elaahi has over twenty years of clinical experience and has worked on all phases of dentistry, including children dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and prosthodontics.
